Borneo Big Wall Pics

Mark Synnott rapping back to our wall camp.
Just finished the initial edit from the recent expedition to Borneo. I was shooting for The North Face, Timex and Mens Journal. We spent a few weeks putting up a new route on the steepest big wall I’ve ever been on. The wall was literally overhanging for a couple thousand feet. Here are a couple of the favorites so far…..(If you haven’t had a chance, check out some of the video blogs below too. Those segments are part of a film project that will be put together for an half hour tv show to be disclosed later.)

Awesome pictures (and videos). When will the full set be available? That first part of Low’s Gully is ridiculous, 1km cliffs! Mind you, had you carried on further down the gully it would have become even scarier - thats where the British soldiers nearly died in 1994. The gully narrows dramatically, basically turning into a series of increasingly large waterfalls (up to 60m high) before reaching the river at the bottom. Rain water runs straight off those granite cliffs and into the gully below…

Wow, Jimmy, those Borneo photos are amazing. What exquisite light and subject matter. The fact you can be comfortable photographing in those situations speaks for itself.
